Discovering the Christian Faith

St Michael’s is an inclusive Church. Wherever you are in your journey of faith, we hope that you will feel welcome, and become as involved as you wish to be.

As we go into Lent why not come and join us to ‘ponder the passion’.  This year’s Lent course will be held every Thursday from 2nd March to 13th April between 7.30 pm and 9.30 pm.

Study Courses

There are occasional introductory courses for people who would like to find out more about the Christian faith. Please feel free to contact the Vicar at vicar@stmichaelsbattersea.org

if you would like to find out more about the next course.

For those that are interested in deepening their faith, Study Groups meet twice a year (Sunday afternoons in October and Wednesday evenings in Lent).

Previous subjects have included the writings of Julian of Norwich, Christian thinking about the environment, analysing the Seven Deadly Sins and various biblical themes from the Gospels and Old Testament.

For Lent 2016 we held a Lent Picture course.  The course (which ran from 2 February until 8 March) was held every Tuesday evening from 7.30pm until 8.30pm at the Church Vicarage in Bolingbroke Grove.

Lent 2017: Every Thursday from 2 March until 13 April between 7.30 pm and 9.30 pm, St Michael’s will be holding a Lent course at the Church.  All are welcome to join us to explore the Christian faith in the context of the community.

Confirmation Courses

Courses are held every year for anyone who wishes to be confirmed in the Church of England. (This can include baptism for anyone not previously baptised). Please contact the Vicar at vicar@stmichaelsbattersea.org to learn more.

Pilgrimages and Retreats

In recent years, groups from the Church have visited Caldy Island, Iona, Rome and various retreats in the South of England.
